The Abbey Retreat House is a ministry of the Benedictine nuns of the Abbey of St. Walburga. Our aim is to provide a quiet place where individuals or groups may spend time in prayer and reflection for one or more days.
The Abbey guest wing has single bedrooms with private bathrooms. All buildings on the Abbey grounds are smoke-free. We cannot accommodate personal pets.
Continental breakfast, lunch, and supper are served in the guest dining room. We will do our best to meet special dietary requirements. When you make reservations, please advise us of any food allergies or other special needs.
Catholic priests and religious: please call us to make specific arrangements for your stay.
While we can accommodate Christian groups of up to 16-18 people on weekends, we give priority to groups that have been coming regularly for many years. For this reason, we have few open weekends for new groups.
Individuals may also make reservations for non-structured, undirected retreat time Wednesday through Sunday, space permitting. Weekends are busy, as is the entire summer season, but we are happy to fit individuals when possible. (Short notice often works better than trying to make reservations months ahead. )
The guest wing is closed Sunday afternoon, Monday, and most Tuesdays.
Reservations are required — please call
970-472-0612 Monday thru Saturday 9:30-11:30 and 2:30-4:30 pm, or e-mail us at email@example.com
If you do not receive a response within 2 days, please telephone again.
All visitors are welcome to join us in praying the Liturgy of the Hours, as well as in the celebration of the Eucharist. Part of our property, including an outdoor Way of the Cross, is open to guests wishing to experience God in the beauty of creation. The terrain is rugged and wildlife is abundant; suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy shoes are necessary.
